History of Singapore Blizzards

Team Singapore Blizzards is the new name for our team, which was formerly known as the Singapore Fuji Ice Cats. We have decided to change the team name, as we wanted something new and fresh for our team. The Amateur Ice Hockey Association of Singapore (AIHA) formed the Singapore Fuji Ice Cats in 2002 with the purpose of creating a team comprised solely of Singaporean to compete at regional tournaments in the Asian Division, as part of the AIHA's ongoing development program.

Team Singapore Blizzards are made up of all Singaporean players with different levels of experience in the game. Some of the more experience players have more than 12 years of experience under their belt where they are from different team while we have some newer players just starting to pick up the exciting sport of ice hockey. We train at least once a week as a team at the Fuji Ice Palace in Jurong Entertainment Centre. A majority of our players also play in the National Ice Hockey League (NIHL) that is organized by the AIHA yearly.

P/s: Before Singapore Ice Cats was formed, from year 1996 - 2001, the team formerly was known as Singapore Phantom.
